Dragon Ball: RB2 Game to Add New 1/2-Hour Anime
"Super Saiya-jin Zetsumetsu Keikaku" remakes 1993 story with all-new footage
Bandai Namco Games has announced on Monday that production on 30 minutes of new animation footage has been green-lit for the Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2 fighting game, which will ship for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles in Japan on November 11.
The new "Dragon Ball: Super Saiya-jin Zetsumetsu Keikaku" (Dragon Ball: Plan to Destroy the Super Saiyajin) animation will remake the story first told by the 1993 Nintendo Famicom (Nintendo Entertainment System) game Dragon Ball Z Gaiden: Saiya-jin Zetsumetsu KeikakuOVA) project, but the new game's "revival animation" is being produced with all-new footage.
The Dragon Ball Kai television anime series is now running in Japan (and in the United States under the name Dragon Ball Z Kai). However, unlike Raging Blast 2's all-new animation footage, Dragon Ball Kai is mostly composed of remastered archival footage with new digital effects on selected scenes.
Bandai Namco Games has already confirmed that the Dragon Ball: Raging Blast 2 game will ship in North America this fall.
